Our Humble Abode (New Pics)

Dave and I have been working steadily on making our new house a home. We ordered and took delivery of a dining room table and chairs, a china cabinet and a sofa bed (for guests... hint, hint) and chair. I spent most of last week hanging pictures and decorations on the walls (takes an unbelievably long time!) and painting the kids' rooms (the beige color that graces the walls throughout our house didn't exactly scream "kid" or "fun" to us). We still need to purchase a few finishing touches like area rugs and new throw pillows, but that'll get done over time. For now, it's feeling a lot more like home. Here are some new pictures for you to enjoy...

The living room. We still need an area rug to make it feel "warm", throw pillows for the couch & chair and a TV stand (please excuse the TV in the corner). But the room is getting there and we like it! Carrie & Brian, the Crucifix you gave us is on the wall... thank you again!

The dining room with the new dining room table and chairs and the china cabinet. Our wedding pictures and the kids' baby pictures are on the left-hand wall above the hope chest (can't really see them in this picture).

The china cabinet with all of our pretty things... this makes me smile :)

This view of the kitchen is from the hallway leading to the bedrooms. I have a lot of space to move around and cook. I can see the kids in the family room (to the left) while I work in the kitchen.

The pantry door with all of Joey's art projects from preschool. He's learned to paint, color, glue and cut with scissors!

View of the kitchen and breakfast bar from the family room. We'll probably move the clock to the kitchen and put up Dave's golf ball display shelf there instead... another day.

View of the family room from the kitchen. There's our new sofa bed and chair. I love our family pictures above the fireplace. We're also going to get a new TV stand in here since our entertainment center weathered some damage in the move.

Another view of the family room (no more lawn furniture!). Joey is having "quiet time" on the couch (since he now refuses to nap). Dave's old La-Z-Boy will get a new slip cover one of these days. The ottoman opens up and Joey likes to stash his toys in there. Kristen & Brandon, the "Welcome" plaque you gave us is above the photo screen in the corner... thank you.

The back of the family room with the toys... Joey's train table, table & chairs and the playpen has now been moved and we put the hand-me-down play kitchen from the Walkers there (both kids love playing with the toy food we bought last week).

Shelf with pictures and knick-knacks in the hallway by the bathroom and bedrooms.

Joey's room, freshly painted blue with his car stickers on the wall.

Another view of Joey's room.

Abi's room in a happy lavender.

Another view of Abi's room.

The master bedroom. Not much has changed since the first posts except that we now have pictures on the walls.

Another view of the master bedroom.
