So far, we are having a beautiful Easter weekend. The weather could not be more perfect and the kids have spent a lot of time playing outside with our new neighbor. When I was able to wrangle them back inside, we were able to do a few Easter activities.
On Saturday, we decorated Easter eggs. The kids had fun dip, dip, dipping and Joey was a bit aggravated at me that I peeled the eggs today to make deviled eggs for lunch. He spent most of our lunch conversation on Sunday coming up with ideas on how we can just use the colored eggs for decoration next year and telling me how I should boil some plain eggs for eating. I tried to tell him "waste not, want not", but he wasn't having it.
We started our Easter Sunday with 9:30 Mass. We've learned over the years to arrive VERY early... it was packed. We think there were as many people standing as there were sitting! It was a beautiful Mass given by our assistant priest, Msg. Bilinsky. We're so blessed at our parish to have wonderful priests.
The kids behaved at church, and since that made the Easter Bunny happy, we came home to a backyard Easter egg hunt.
