Joe's First U7 Soccer Game

This week is a BUSY one to say the least!  Dave was out of town for work from Wednesday to Saturday night and during that time, we had our first Cub Scout meeting, a park play date, soccer practice, a birthday party for a friend, a soccer game and the first Scouting event of the year.  Not to mention school, homework, errands, etc.  Whew!  Joe, Abi and I are exhausted!

Our busy Saturday began with Joe's first U7 soccer game of the season (last week was rained out because of Tropical Storm Lee).  Dave is the coach again, but luckily, he has some great parents to step up and fill in since he was traveling.

Wow, does the game of soccer change between the 5 year old and 6 year old teams.  All of a sudden, these kids are ready for strategy.  They play smart.  The field is bigger and they play harder.  Dave also "drafted" their team, which means there's a good balance of beginners and skilled players.  "Bunch ball" is on it's way out for these kids... they're getting so big!

Eight kids on the team and they play four-on-four.  Waiting for his turn to rotate in.

Rotating in.

Joe is #5.

Getting in on the action.

Abi has made a friend.  Another player has a little sister, who happened to turn 4 on Saturday.

Half-time show

Bust a move, girls!
Joe had a lot of fun at his first game.  They still don't keep score, but given the number of times his team was at the goal, I'd say his team won!  Woo hoo!
